April 13, 2022
12 April 2022 – ImpactMapper, an impact consultancy and software platform that helps organizations measure and optimize social impact and sustainability, is proud to be working with Equal Measures 2030 (EM2030) to develop a monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) framework to help capture and communicate the impact of its data-driven advocacy efforts.
EM2030 is a collaboration of national, regional, and global leaders from feminist networks, civil society, international development, and the private sector, which provides funding and technical support to strengthen data-driven advocacy for girls’ and women’s rights towards the achievements of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This exciting collaboration combines ImpactMapper’s market-leading impact metrics and data expertise with EM2030’s established network and strategies to enhance efforts toward the goal of SDG-aligned gender equality by 2030.
Informed by an extensive impact data audit and collaboration with its partners to co-define impact metrics, the new MEL framework will help EM2030 and its global, regional and country partners, which include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Data 2x, Women Deliver, FEMNET, CLADEM, GROOTS, SAHAJ, KAPAL, ONE, and Tableau Foundation, to capture and communicate the most salient data and stories from a wealth of material. In doing so, the framework will reduce reporting burdens and optimise the deployment of resources to achieve positive impacts.
Commenting on the partnership, Alexandra Pittman, Founder and CEO of ImpactMapper, said:
“This is a great opportunity for ImpactMapper to build on and leverage its extensive experience working with organisations such as the Malala Fund, UNDP, and IKEA, to effectively deploy ImpactMapper’s data collection, analysis and communication solutions. We are looking forward to supporting the power of the collective network in unearthing their insights to monitor progress, source greater learning on what is working and what is not in different contexts and strengthen evidence-based storytelling for advocacy.
EM2030’s quest to connect data and evidence with advocacy and action on gender equality is fully aligned with ImpactMapper’s overarching mission. We look forward to working with EM2030 and its partners across all levels to collectively enhance how we mobilize donor and community action for investing in women’s and girls’ rights and equality around the world at significantly greater levels than we are today.”
Alison Holder, Director of EM2030 added:
“We are excited to be working with the excellent team at ImpactMapper to further improve how we measure and communicate about the impact of the data-driven advocacy work we support. We believe deeply in the power of advocacy led by women’s rights organisations to drive sustainable and systemic change, including through changes in laws, policies and budget decisions that affect the lives of millions of girls and women. Through the work with ImpactMapper, we will refine our MEL tools and processes to not only reduce reporting burdens, but also ensure we only collect the most relevant and useful impact data and stories.
Having better quality evidence about the impact of data-driven women’s rights advocacy will benefit all of us - and the wider movement - in our collective mission for gender equality.”
